Feeding the Planet: Empowering Women

The Governments of Italy, Ghana, World Food Programme and International Development Law Organization, in collaboration with UN Women, will organize a high-level event under the title on “Feeding the Planet – Empowering Women: The Food and Nutrition Security Challenge”, to support the mainstreaming of gender equality in food and nutrition security.

IDLO Director-General Concluded a Mission to New York

IDLO Director-General Irene Khan concluded a mission to New York where she called on the UN Deputy Secretary-General, Asha-Rose Migiro, the Executive Director of UN Women, Michelle Bachelet, and senior officials in the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Ms. Khan also met with the Permanent Representatives to the United Nations H.E. Luis Alfonso de Alba of Mexico and H.E.

UNFCCC COP18: Increased Support Needed for Climate Change Law and Policy Reform

DOHA, 29 November 2012 - As the 18th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) meets in Doha to move the international climate change agenda forward, the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) urges increased recognition of the vital role national legal and policy frameworks play in enabling effective climate change response. 

H.E. Ambassador Gianni Ghisi presents his credentials to IDLO Director-General Irene Khan

ROME, 16 January 2013 – Italian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Agencies in Rome, Gianni Ghisi, presented his diplomatic credentials to the Director-General of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), Irene Khan, at the organization’s Headquarters in Rome. 

Italy is the Permanent Vice President of the IDLO Assembly of Parties.
