IDLO Assembly of Parties and Partnership Forum 2017 | Part 1 of 6

31 Dec 2017

The Annual Meeting of the Assembly of Parties & Partnership Forum 2017 took place on November 28 and 29, 2017 in Rome, at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation.

As the international community faces increasingly complex challenges in dealing with conflicts and in making the 2030 Agenda a reality, IDLO's 2017 Partnership Forum addressed the relationship between peace and development and the role that the rule of law plays to underpin both and promote stable and inclusive societies.

Held annually in conjunction with IDLO’s Assembly of Parties, the Partnership Forum was a platform for multi-stakeholder dialogue between IDLO Member Parties, partner governments, international policy makers and development practitioners. The forum stimulated new ideas on critical rule of law issues, and facilitated and strengthened new and existing IDLO partnerships.

The Partnership Forum’s interactive dialogue discussed:

Sustaining Peace, Sustainable Development: Challenges and Opportunities for the Rule of Law - Keynote Speech: Mr. Fabrizio Hochschild, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Strategic Coordination.

1. Building Effective and Accountable Institutions to Sustain Peace.

2. Can there be Peace and Prosperity without Gender Equality?

3. Partnerships for Inclusive Economic Growth.
