Clarification Letter No.1 in response to bidder's inquiry.
The Bahamas is an archipelago of around 700 islands, 30 of which are inhabited. The Bahamas is one of the richest countries in the Caribbean region, with its economy heavily dependent on tourism. However, the Bahamas has been significantly impacted by external events, including the global financial crisis and the effects of climate change.
While the country’s economy is growing, the Government of the Bahamas faces challenges of tackling drug trafficking, illegal immigration and, most importantly, corruption. The Government has pledged to take significant steps to combat corruption. To this end, IDLO is committed to bolster the Government’s efforts to strengthen the Bahamas' legal framework on anti-corruption, thereby promoting greater political integrity, public trust and meaningful economic growth.
