In partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, from 2017 to 2020, IDLO implemented projects to create a more supportive environment for women entrepreneurs in Jordan.
Through baseline assessments and field research, IDLO identified key legal, social and economic obstacles that hinder women entrepreneurs from resolving business-related disputes.
The project equipped women with essential legal knowledge to address these barriers, empowering them to access justice channels, including mediation, and strengthening their ability to develop and sustain their businesses.
In response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, IDLO also addressed emerging legal and commercial issues affecting women-led small and medium businesses in Jordan.
By bringing together national justice experts, IDLO assessed the pandemic’s impact on the justice sector and the economy, producing findings that identified key access to justice challenges and recommended resilience strategies.
