This sub-project aimed to enhance access to justice among adolescent girls and young women by strengthening response mechanisms, linkages and collaboration between formal and informal justice systems in the targeted districts of Tororo, Butaleja, and Busia in Uganda. The Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRHR) Alliance identified and trained Community Response Agents to effectively respond to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) cases. In cooperation with local government and technical leaders, SRHR Alliance further provided support to - and participated in - SGBV response initiatives, establishing District Coordination Committees to discuss the state of SGBV incidence and identifying potential gaps and solutions in the SGBV response within the formal justice system. Finally, SRHR Alliance delivered a series of training sessions to women/girl-led organizations and young women leaders to develop their capacity to support and champion access to justice.
