This sub-project contributed to the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) through increased participation of the local community, especially men, and enhanced quality and access to legal services for the community and at-risk groups. In cooperation with partner organizations, Sain Tus Tuv Uvs, delivered a series of training sessions to peer paralegals (youth and adolescent boys) on domestic violence (DV) and GBV, organized thematic debates, talk shows and discussion forums, as well as established a network of male activists to spread awareness of gender, gender stereotypes and DV among the local community. The implementing partner also provided legal and health services to communities living in remote areas and delivered training to doctors and medical workers of provincial family medical centres on psychological support to victims of violence. Finally, Sain Tus Tuv, Uvs, liaised with decision makers on the issue of preventing GBV and the importance of enabling the use of gender-based statistics in policy planning.
