Under the framework of the Global Regulatory and Fiscal Capacity Building Programme (Global RECAP), this sub-project aims to strengthen the capacity of legal and public health academic institutions in health law, with a focus on legal and regulatory approaches to the prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Drawing on the findings from a mapping of academic institutions and courses related to health law and NCDs, the Faculty of Public Health of the University of Indonesia (FKMUI), in collaboration with the Faculty of Law (FHUI), is delivering a series of interdisciplinary capacity development activities for faculty members and students to increase awareness and understanding of law and NCDs, including the development of training materials, the design of courses and seminars, the organization of international conferences, the publication of research papers and thesis supervision on issues at the intersection between law and NCD prevention. In order to promote multidisciplinary academic collaboration, research and knowledge-sharing in health law, FKMUI is also supporting the establishment of a multidisciplinary academic network to advance research on healthy diets and physical activity.
