Under the framework of the Global Regulatory and Fiscal Capacity Building Programme (Global RECAP), this sub-project aims to reduce diet-related non-communicable diseases in Bangladesh by advancing the effective implementation of an evidence-based, and community-responsive, Front-of-Pack Labelling (FOPL) system. In order to enhance coordination and policy commitment among Government stakeholders and civil society, the Center for Law and Policy Affairs (CLPA) is facilitating policy dialogues and sensitization among relevant Government entities on the regulatory design and implementation of FOPL. In addition, CLPA is delivering a series of advocacy activities involving civil society organizations, academia and the media to generate support and promote the finalization and enactment of the national FOPL system. Finally, CLPA is supporting public education and awareness-raising campaigns targeting civil society, academic institutions, health and legal professionals and media representatives on the FOPL model to strengthen public demand and social accountability for its implementation.
