Gender discrimination is an affront to human dignity, a challenge to the rule of law and an obstacle to development. Gender inequality denies women their rightful place in society and robs societies of the contribution of half of their members. IDLO recognizes the centrality of the rule of law in helping women become equal partners in decision-making and development, and achieving gender justice.
IDLO works to promote gender equality and justice through non-discriminatory gender-responsive laws and institutions, enhancing women’s access to justice and increasing their legal empowerment to achieve sustainable development.
