Building on the results achieved through the previous phase, this sub-project aimed to strengthen access to justice in Niger through high quality, accessible information. In order to raise awareness and increase community knowledge of access to justice services, as well as rights and obligations, the Réseau des Journalistes pour les Droits de l’Homme (RJDH) delivered a series of training sessions for private, public and community media journalists on access to public justice services; organized information sessions for regulatory bodies and press organizations on a media repository for human rights and access to justice. In addition, RJDH developed and broadcasted radio programmes, as well as created or expanded dedicated media sections on access to justice within the broader human rights framework, with the aim of improving citizens’ knowledge of judicial referral services, police custody, and pretrial detention.
