IDLO played a crucial role in setting up the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine that opened its doors on 5 September 2019 after a year of intense preparations. IDLO had an instrumental part in ensuring the integrity, transparency and accountability of the selection process, by supporting the Public Council of International Experts who were responsible for selecting the judges for the bench. One of them is Yevhen Kruk, a seasoned Ukrainian lawyer who passed through the rigorous testing and vetting, in competition with more than a thousand candidates to join the bench of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine.
