Women Deliver 2023 Conference

The Women Deliver 2023 Conference (WD2023) is one of the largest multi-sectoral convenings to advance gender equality and is heavily influential in defining global policy directions on gender, including building strong feminist collective action and partnerships around identified policy areas. WD2023 will be held in Kigali, Rwanda from 17-20 July 2023. It is expected to convene 6,000 people in Kigali and 200,000+ people online.

The theme of WD2023 is Spaces, Solidarity, and Solutions. It seeks to center intersectional feminist principles, to address compounding issues impacting girls and women — from climate change to gender-based violence, to unpaid care work — and collectively identify and action evidence-based solutions.

The Conference has five objectives:

  • Catalyzing collective action to advance gender equality
  • Holding leaders accountable
  • Empowering the feminist movement
  • Reframing who leads
  • Creating space

WD2023 will prioritize the themes of the Generation Equality Forum (GEF) Action Coalitions and create spaces for specific Action Coalitions to build on efforts started at GEF.

Enabling Access to Justice for Survivors of Gender-based Violence Against Women in Somaliland

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Centres in Somaliland offer free, accessible, and fair justice services for basic criminal and civil law disputes while safeguarding the rights of...

Climate Justice for Women and Girls: A Rule of Law Approach to Feminist Climate Action

Women and girls have the right to effectively participate in and lead efforts to achieve climate justice. An explicitly feminist approach to climate change, based on the rule of law, is needed to ensure women’s inclusion in decision-making processes related to climate governance, equal access to justice, resolution of conflict over natural resources, and the enactment of inclusive and effective climate laws and policies. IDLO’s Policy Brief Climate Justice for Women and Girls: A Rule of Law...
