Rule of law fund: programmatic framework

The Programmatic Framework for the Indonesia-Netherlands Rule of Law Fund builds on Indonesian development plans and continues the efforts of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jakarta to support the consolidation of the rule of law and reform agenda. The primary objective of the Rule of Law Fund is to support the development of effective, accountable and inclusive justice sector institutions, ensuring equal access to justice in Indonesia.

Program activities seek to enhance synergy and coordination, and are in line with: Indonesia’s Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2015-2019 and Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2005-2025, from which the latter integrates a National Strategy on Access to Justice (NSA2J); the Multi-Annual Interdepartmental Policy Framework (MIB) Indonesia 2017-2020 ‘Staying Ahead of the Curve’ from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jakarta; and, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, in particular Sustainable Development Goal 16.3 to “promote the rule of law at the national and international levels and ensure equal access to justice for all”.
