IDLO Director-General to visit Ukraine: Media Advisory

Kyiv, October 24, 2017 - The Director-General of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), Irene Khan, will visit Ukraine from October 25 to 27, 2017 to meet representatives of the Government of Ukraine and other key stakeholders in the rule of law sector to discuss IDLO’s work and explore areas of potential future collaboration.

Since 2015, IDLO has been working in Ukraine to contribute to the country’s sustainable development and the return of confidence in public administration, justice and the rule of law. IDLO’s work has been focused on strengthening institutions by providing technical assistance to address corruption and enhance the capacity and integrity of institutions.

IDLO is engaged in developing and implementing some of the most important reform initiatives in Ukraine in areas such as deregulation, anti-corruption, law and court enforcement, administrative service delivery and e-procurement.

In Kyiv, Ms. Khan will conduct meetings with representatives of the Presidential Administration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing, National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. She will also meet with members of parliament, the diplomatic community and civil society.

Ms. Khan will also travel to Kharkiv for meetings with the Regional State Administration and to visit the recently opened Public Service Centre which provides over 400 administrative and social services to citizens through a one-stop-shop concept.

To conclude her visit, representatives of the media will be invited to meet Ms. Khan for a briefing on Friday, October 27 in Kyiv.
