ROME, 21 July 2010 – Jacques Diouf, Director–General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Antonio Badini, Director-General of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of their organizations to address world hunger and improve food security.

This year IDLO will participate in the XVIII International Conference on AIDS, which will take place in Vienna from 18-23 July 2010. The Conference is the premier gathering for those working in the field of HIV, as well as policy makers, persons living with HIV and other individuals committed to ending the pandemic. It is a chance for the global community to assess where we are, evaluate recent scientific developments and lessons learnt, and collectively chart a course forward.

Vienna, 16 July 2010 – Fifty legal experts, people living with HIV, and representatives of affected communities from Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, Southern Africa and the USA met today at the Steigenberger Hotel Herrenhof to address HIV-related discrimination and other legal issues such as laws on sex and drug use, inheritance and property rights, child custody issues, and police harassment and abuse.
