IDLO receives voluntary contributions both for specific projects and for the Organization's general operations. Support is provided by a variety of donors, including states and multilateral organizations, as well as private foundations, corporations and individuals.
Unlike most intergovernmental organizations, IDLO's member parties are not obligated to make annual contributions. While this facilitates membership by the poorest countries, it places increased emphasis on raising sufficient funds to support basic institutional development and management functions, unrelated to assistance programs. These funds come in the form of unrestricted grants.

Important Note: The above two graphics present the breakdown of the total value of each of the programs and projects currently under implementation. The grand total value in these graphics is different from the total value of IDLO funding in 2012 because many of the current programs and projects are multiyear programs; IDLO will therefore earn revenue from them over several years.
