Legal Empowerment: Practitioners' Perspectives, edited by Stephen Golub, contributes empirical knowledge to the debate on how disadvantaged populations will best secure their economic and social rights. It is the second publication in an IDLO book series entitled Lessons Learned: Narrative Accounts of Legal Reform in Developing and Transition Countries.

12/02/2010 - New Working Paper on "Community Land Titling"
To investigate how best to support community land titling (CLT) efforts and protect the rights of vulnerable groups within the context of decentralized land management, IDLO is implementing a two-year Community Land Titling Initiative in Mozambique, Uganda and Liberia. This publication provides an overview of the relevant legal frameworks that the CLT will implement and rely upon for the fulfillment of project activites.

08/01/2010 - Research on Traditional Knowledge: A community approach to sharing traditional knowledge for non-commercial research
With this publication, selected communities in Kenya will be encouraged to learn about their legal rights to protect their traditional knowledge and to experiment with the development of new community-based mechanisms (such as a traditional knowledge commons) that will enable them to set the conditions under which they share such knowledge with non-traditional users.
