14/08/2010 - Working to Eradicate Gender-Based Violence in Afghanistan
In Afghanistan, IDLO works to address the systemic challenges for girls and women to gain protection and justice in the Afghan legal justice system.
Gender-based violence in Afghanistan is not limited to one area, as the dozens of Kabul area cases and multiple studies illustrate. The Ministry of Women’s Affairs primary date base of violence against women cases, recorded 1940 cases registered in 26 (out of 34) provinces from October 2006 to Mid 2009.
