IDLO draws on 25 years experience for program on infrastructure development in African Nations

 <p ALIGN="center">IDLO DRAWS ON 25 YEARS EXPERIENCE FOR PROGRAM ON  
 INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICAN NATIONS</p></b></font><font FACE="Verdana" size="2"><p ALIGN="justify" style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0">The International Development Law Organization this week begins a new francophone program on infrastructure development, which brings together specialist legal professionals, government officials and private sector lawyers from ten countries throughout east and central Africa.</p><br>
 
 <p ALIGN="justify" style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0">A nation’s effective and sustainable development depends on having a sound infrastructure in place which promotes increased economic activity. Over the past 25 years, IDLO has provided extensive legal training and technical assistance to over 100 developing countries and transition economies on infrastructure financing, procurement regulatory regimes and dispute resolution.</p><br><p ALIGN="justify" style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0">IDLO’s latest program focuses on the key issues affecting infrastructure policy-making and implementation in Africa, and will examine:</p><br>

 <p ALIGN="justify" style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0">
 <ul>
 <li>International and regional approaches to infrastructure development</li>
 <li>Investment strategies</li>
 <li>Legal, institutional and social aspects of Public Private Partnerships (PPP)</li>
 <li>Project financing for infrastructure and the legal aspects of infrastructure projects</li>
 <li>Legal issues involved in construction transactions - from bid evaluations to the completion of the guarantee period.</li>
 </ul>
 </p><p ALIGN="justify" style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0">Skills-training on negotiating and concluding infrastructure agreements, and resolving infrastructure project-related disputes will be provided to participants, and the program will conclude with the development of an action plan for follow-up activities in each country.</p><br>

 <p ALIGN="justify" style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0">Participants from IDLO’s francophone infrastructure program come from the following countries: Mauritania, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Cameroon, Burundi, The Republic of the Congo, Central Africa, Tunisia and Madagascar </p><br>
